Sueños de Barro
This pottery set is based in the intention of trying to emulate different three of the different states of sleep, such as Insomnia a bad dream and the awakening.
Each pottery piece represents one of the different stages of sleep.
The mug represents a “The bad dream”. The repetition of the hoops makes us feel as if we’re falling in some kind of hole where we are not able to get out of.
The jar represents “Insomnia”. We see this feeling represented through the handle which creates an infinite shape going into the jar and coming out the other side.
And finally the bowl represents “The awakening” as u can see its shape reminds us the movement where the moon goes away and lets the sun rise.
To wrap things up I designed a spoon which makes reference to noise guilty of waking us up in mornings, once you shake the spoon it adopts this rattle feeling where we can hear a faint noise trying to wake us up.
